Position Overview
At PNC, employees are a key differentiator in a competitive marketplace. This role, a Community Development Officer II, is based in Birmingham, Alabama, and focuses on leading community development initiatives within PNC’s Community Development Banking organization.
Responsibilities- Serve as a local market subject matter expert on the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) compliance, Community Benefits Plan, and other community-based initiatives.
- Develop and implement area‑specific strategies to ensure CRA Community Development services exceed targets.
- Manage relationships with internal stakeholders, Line of Business (LOB) partners, and external partners including non‑profits, advocacy organizations, government entities, and groups supporting low‑ and moderate‑income communities, small businesses, and small farms.
- Mentor, coach, and onboard team members; serve as a subject‑matter expert.
- Identify prospective grant partners, develop and execute grantmaking, services, and investment strategies aligned with PNC’s Community Development strategy.
- Represent PNC in the community through board memberships, speaking engagements, events, and partner relationship management.
- Collaborate with non‑profit organizations to provide financial education to LMI families and communities, and serve as a referral source to LOB partners when appropriate.
- Support the CRA platform by capturing and documenting CRA‑eligible service activities and coordinating with Relationship Managers to identify loans or investments eligible for the CRA platform.
- University or college degree with at least 3+ years of relevant or direct industry experience.
