Contract Agent
Location:
Birmingham, AL Duration: 12+ months
Support end-to-end sourcing and contracting activities, including RFI/RFP management, negotiations, contract drafting, execution, administration, amendments, and closeout. Manage multiple procurement projects while ensuring compliance, risk mitigation, and stakeholder satisfaction.
Requirements- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Procurement/contracts experience preferred
- Knowledge of contract law, contract drafting, and commercial negotiations
- Strong communication, negotiation, analytical, organizational, and customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision
- Experience with procurement tools (GEP, Oracle, Maximo, SharePoint) is a plus
- Manage sourcing lifecycle (RFI/RFP through contract closeout)
- Draft, review, negotiate, and administer contracts
- Conduct supplier evaluations, market research, and cost/price analysis
- Assess and mitigate contractual risks
- Ensure compliance with legal, procurement, accounting, and risk requirements
- Coordinate supplier documentation and contract changes
- Resolve contract issues and support dispute resolution
- Serve as procurement SME for internal stakeholders
- Build strong vendor and cross-functional relationships
- Self-motivated, customer-focused, ethical, and team-oriented
- Strong sense of urgency and accountability
- Adaptable, proactive, and committed to high performance
