The Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operational health of the organization — overseeing internal processes, coordinating cross-functional teams, managing budgets and vendors, and ensuring programs and services are delivered efficiently and on schedule. This role suits a process-minded leader who can translate strategy into reliable execution.
Key responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations across departments, ensuring workflows are efficient, documented, and consistently followed
- Develop, monitor, and refine operational policies, procedures, and performance metrics
- Manage operational budgets, track expenditures, and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Coordinate procurement, vendor relationships, and service contracts
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate operational and administrative staff
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, and organizational standards
- Prepare operational reports and present performance data to senior leadership
- Identify process bottlenecks and implement continuous-improvement initiatives
- Support strategic planning and execute organizational initiatives on time and within budget
- Coordinate facilities, logistics, and resource allocation
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Public Administration
- 3+ years of experience in operations, administration, or program management (5+ preferred)
- Demonstrated experience managing budgets, staff, and cross-functional processes
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with office and project-management software
Preferred:
- 5+ years of experience in operations or program management
- Experience in a nonprofit, government, or public-sector environment
- Familiarity with grant management or public funding compliance
- Process-improvement or project-management certification (Lean, Six Sigma, PMP)
