The primary purposes of the Event Director are threefold.
Year-round roles:
Serving in customer care efforts, sales, marketing, recruiting, event logistics and leading assigned areas.
Event season preparation:
Primarily preparing for the summer season related to customer care, SERVE and its demands, and having our team and experience “ready” in May.
Summer Leadership:
Leading throughout the summer alongside the Event Coordinator as our event leadership, engaging spiritual development, on-site customer service, teaching, working with campus contacts and contract management, team development, team leadership, public communication as well as carrying out the brand promises.
It is imperative for this role to enrich the lives of youth workers and serving well the churches and their leaders that are with us during the summer season while also building relationships with them throughout the year. This role is an all-around ambassador for GENERATE with both customers and staff.
It is expected that this position is ministry-minded, a self-starter, dynamic leader, good steward of resources, has great communication skills, is flexible with both a creative and critical mind, is willing to expand the Kingdom impact of YM360 and wants to grow the ministry footprint of GENERATE. This position will be a major face for the YM360 brand and living up to our Core Values each day will be essential.
EssentialResponsibilities
- Be a Minister
- Assist in needed marketing efforts, including outbound communications to targeted regions
- Participate in registration and camp prep details
- Participate in the GENERATE Summer Staff recruiting and hiring process
- Lead on site Customer Service experience along with Event Coordinator and YM360 leadership
- Work in association with the YM360 leadership team related to campus contacts and event logistics
- Work with Event Coordinator as point of contact for summer communication of registered churches
- Communicate and coordinate staff and participant details with campus contacts
- Lead summer staff in spiritual and missional development
- Teach team staff bible study with YM360 leadership
- Teach Village leaders meeting and theme content with YM360 leadership
- Lead Youth Ministers meeting with YM360 leadership
- Lead summer team travel along with Event Coordinator
- Assist in design and execution of CONNECT curriculum
- Assist assigned tasks related to SERVE
- Manage assigned budgets along with YM360 leadership
- Execute Lead team development program at events
- Customer service related to all things YM36
- Respond to chats and phones as part of the Communications Team (Lee Moore, Director of Customer Care, leads)
- Grow GENERATE summer footprint and relationships with churches
- Be familiar with YM360 products and resources to help the consumer at POS
- Participate in tradeshow efforts of YM360
- Participate in other events as needed (CLEAR, trainings, etc.)
- Manage assigned boxes of responsibility
- Manage assigned monthly reports
- Assist in fulfillment as needed
- Other assigned tasks
- College degree or higher
- 2+ years of industry experience
- Excellent writing skills
- Clear and effective communication skills, both orally and in writing
- Effective leadership skills & proven experience
- Proficient at multi-tasking
- Able to work in groups and individually
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Posses great organizational skills
- Ability to lead high customer service experience
- Monday through Friday from our office in Hoover, Alabama when not traveling.
- Summer season at camp locations.

This position will report to Angela Terry and J. Roger Davis, YM360’s Director of Events and President.
