Title: Safety Manager (on-site)
Annual Salary: $105,000 - $125,000
Location: Birmingham, AL
* Only candidates in the Birmingham, AL area will be considered since in-office work is required. (on-site)
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Safety Manager to lead and strengthen safety initiatives for a growing, multi-location industrial organization. This is a highly visible, field-focused role for someone who enjoys being in operations, building relationships with employees and leaders, and creating practical solutions that improve safety across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct site visits, safety inspections, risk assessments, and compliance audits across multiple locations.
- Identify unsafe conditions and work practices and partner with local leadership to implement corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver practical safety training and reinforce consistent safety expectations across the organization.
- Lead or assist with accident, injury, vehicle incident, near-miss, and property damage investigations, including root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Support OSHA compliance, required safety documentation, and regulatory preparedness.
- Track and report key safety metrics and identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of progressive, hands-on safety management experience.
- Experience with in manufacturing, distribution, warehousing, transportation, logistics, or other industrial environments preferred.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety best practices.
- Fleet safety and DOT compliance experience is highly preferred.
- Experience conducting safety inspections, audits, training, and incident investigations.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels of an organization.
- Comfortable working in the field and traveling regularly to multiple locations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
