Contracts Coordinator (Heavy Industrial/Construction)
Location:
Birmingham, Alabama (On-site 4 days/week)

12 month contract with potential to extend
This position is responsible for supporting project teams and business units by assisting with the planning, development, and administration of contracts involving construction field labor.
The successful candidate will work with various internal groups including quality, supply chain, and project controls to ensure contract language and conditions are appropriate for each project.
Key Responsibilities- Support the development of contract strategy during project planning phases.
- Aid in the identification, pre-qualification, and vetting of contractors.
- Draft and facilitate the development of inquiry documents, including Special Conditions, Proposal forms, and Pricing Sheets.
- Assist in leading pre-bid meetings and manage the question-and-answer process during the bid period.
- Prepare bid analysis documents to support the proposal review and contract award process.
- Produce award recommendations and work with the project team to finalize and route for approval.
- Oversee the conformance and final review of contract documents prior to execution.
- Provide project teams with ongoing contract administration support, including for the resolution of change orders and claims.
Experience:
5-8 years of experience in construction contracts is required. Experience must include construction contract management and/or subcontract administration within a heavy industrial construction environment.
Technical
Skills:
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, including SharePoint, is required. The candidate must have the ability to read a project schedule.
Soft Skills:
The role requires the ability to work effectively with a variety of internal teams and external vendors, coupled with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- An accredited degree in Engineering, Building Science, Construction Management, Business, or Law is preferred.
- Knowledge of common project delivery methods (e.g., Design-Bid-Build, EPC) and contract pricing methods (e.g., Firm Fixed Price, T&M).
The pay rate for this position ranges from $30.00 to $40.00 per hour. This is a 12-month contract with the potential for extension.
