Location:

- 4-year degree in a relevant curriculum from an accredited college or university OR minimum 3 years of relevant experience.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Microsoft Excel
- Proficiency in Timberline Estimating and On-Screen Take-Off
- Proficiency in iSqft (online bid solicitation software)
- General
- In-depth knowledge of plan and specification reading
- Mastery of quantity take‑off & subcontractor solicitation
- Mastery of mathematical formulas for quantity take‑off and bid evaluation
- Understanding of subcontractor bid evaluation
- Working knowledge of building components
- Basic understanding of trade sequencing
- Basic understanding of contract language
- Basic understanding of risk management
- Detailed review of plans and specifications
- Perform detailed quantity surveys and input into Timberline Estimating as directed by the Senior Estimator
- Price items taken off for review by Senior Estimator
- Constant communication with the Senior Estimator and fellow estimators about unusual situations, possible scope gaps, etc.
- Distribute plans and specifications to subcontractors/vendors
- Solicit and follow up with subcontractors/vendors; provide at least 3 competitive bids on all scopes of work for which responsible
- Visit subcontractors/vendors as time allows to maintain a good working relationship
- Provide support for subcontractor prequalification effort
- Develop RFIs and submit to Senior Estimator
- Analyze quotes from multiple subcontractors/vendors
- Perform buyout and drafting of subcontracts and purchase orders
- Work on multiple projects simultaneously under direction of multiple supervisors
- Maintain an active presence in the industry
- Establish and maintain relationships with subcontractors and vendors
- Support company community service projects
- Demonstrate adherence to BLHI Corporate Values in daily management
- Interact with professionalism and pro-activism
- Seek feedback and personal development for advancement
- Learn about BLHI history and overall objectives
- Minimum 3-5 years of industrial pre-construction experience required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel, Timberline Estimating, On-Screen Take‑Off, and iSqft
- In-depth knowledge of plan reading, quantity take‑off, subcontractor solicitation, bid evaluation, and building components
- Basic knowledge of contract language, risk management, trade sequencing
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multi-project environment
- Advanced proficiency in estimating and bid software
- Experience with subcontractor prequalification
- Experience managing relationships with vendors and subcontractors
- Demonstrated commitment to corporate values and continuous improvement
