Position Description
Join a reputable construction company as a Multifamily Estimator in Birmingham, Alabama, and play a vital role in shaping the future of residential development. This full-time, on-site opportunity offers the chance to lead estimating efforts for multifamily, mixed‑use, and senior living projects. As a key member of the preconstruction team, you will develop accurate project budgets, conduct conceptual and hard‑bid estimates, and collaborate with subcontractors and internal teams to ensure profitable project delivery.

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
• 3–5+ years of estimating or preconstruction experience, specifically in multifamily or residential projects
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills
• Experience with conceptual estimating, value engineering, and mentoring junior estimators
• Skilled in Bluebeam, On‑Screen Takeoff (OST), Sage Estimating, Procore, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Project
• Knowledge of local subcontractor and supplier markets in Birmingham and the broader Southeast region
• Experience working for a general contractor specializing in multifamily housing, mixed‑use, or senior living developments

• Deliver accurate, competitive project estimates that align with client budgets and company goals
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities through value engineering and procurement strategies
• Build strong relationships with subcontractors and internal stakeholders to support project success
• Mentor and support junior estimators and foster a collaborative preconstruction environment
