Purpose & Scope of the RoleAs a Quantity Surveyor within our Birmingham team, you will contribute to a high-performing, multi-disciplinary environment delivering expert cost advice across infrastructure, commercial, residential, and government sectors. Working on projects ranging from early feasibility through to completion—some exceeding £100m—you will support clients and design teams with accurate, data-driven insights, while strengthening collaborative relationships across regional teams and project stakeholders.

From developing detailed cost plans to advising on procurement and contract administration, your input will shape efficient, high-quality project delivery. You’ll engage directly with clients, contribute to value engineering and risk strategies, and help drive innovation in cost management practices.
- Cost Planning & Estimating
:
Develop robust cost plans using industry tools such as CostX, ensuring accuracy across complex projects. - Commercial Advisory
:
Provide strategic advice on design options, procurement routes, and cost implications to optimise project outcomes. - Contract & Project Management
:
Deliver full lifecycle cost management and contract administration services with strong governance and attention to detail. - Stakeholder Engagement
:
Build effective relationships with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams, influencing decisions at all levels. - Value Engineering & Risk Management
:
Contribute to workshops and strategic discussions, identifying opportunities to enhance value and manage project risks.
Degree-qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or a related field, with membership of or progress toward RICS (or similar). Proven experience delivering high-quality cost consultancy services, strong knowledge of construction contracts, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Excellent communication skills and a strategic mindset are essential. SC clearance (or willingness to obtain) is required.
This role is based in Birmingham with a hybrid working model. You can expect a blend of office collaboration and flexible remote working, typically with 2–3 days in the office depending on project needs. Opportunities to work across regional teams and national projects are integral to the role.
