Job DetailsManager, Pre-Construction Service
Location:
Birmingham, AL
Lead day-to-day pre-construction activities for assigned pursuits and projects, coordinating estimating, scheduling, design collaboration, and procurement through final pricing.
Develop and manage conceptual, schematic, and detailed estimates, ensuring scope, assumptions, quantities, and pricing are accurate and complete.
Prepare conceptual budgets and estimate analyses to support project pursuits and customer discussions.
Coordinate with operations, design management, procurement, and scheduling teams to support constructability reviews, logistics planning, and seamless project handoff.
Engage with customers, designers, trade partners, and vendors to clarify scope, validate assumptions, and develop reliable pricing and schedules.
Analyze subcontractor and vendor proposals, identifying risks, scope gaps, and opportunities.
Identify and communicate key project risks, opportunities, and cost drivers to support informed decision-making.
Lead and coordinate pre-construction staff assigned to pursuits and projects, providing guidance and mentorship.
Apply company pre-construction tools, benchmarks, and best practices to ensure consistency and continuous improvement.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of related pre-construction, estimating, or construction experience.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with standard business software, spreadsheets, estimating software, and project documentation tools.

Physical Demands & Work Environment- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, and communicate effectively.
- May occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Primarily office-based environment with moderate noise levels.
- Occasional overtime may be required.
