Project Scheduler
The Scheduler develops, maintains, and analyzes construction project schedules, with a strong focus on post-construction as-built schedules and lessons learned reporting. This role supports complex projects in the energy and construction sectors by coordinating design, procurement, construction, and post-construction activities, ensuring realistic timelines, accurate resource allocation, and effective cost and project controls. The Scheduler collaborates closely with internal and external stakeholders to identify critical milestones, manage schedule risks, and provide clear, data-driven insights that support successful project delivery.
- Prepare comprehensive post-construction as-built schedules that accurately reflect actual project execution and outcomes.
- Develop detailed lessons learned reports to capture schedule-related insights and improvements for future projects.
- Create and update both summary-level and detailed project schedules throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop lists of design, procurement, construction, and post-construction activities based on review of design documents, examination of site conditions, and discussions with owners, design consultants, and contractors.
- Identify major project milestones, critical approvals, and long-lead procurement items that may impact schedule performance.
- Determine reasonable schedule logic and constraints through collaboration with task owners and project teams.
- Establish realistic activity durations based on production rates, available manpower, and input from task owners and teams.
- Assign resources, including cost, labor, and materials, to scheduled activities and develop associated cash flow reports and resource histograms.
- Evaluate critical and near-critical path activity sequences to identify schedule risks and opportunities.
- Assess actual project progress through site inspections and update schedules accordingly.
- Support cost control and project controls activities by integrating schedule data with cost estimates, cost analysis, and forecasting.
- Collaborate with cost engineers, planners, estimators, project managers, engineers, contractors, and other construction stakeholders to ensure alignment between schedule, scope, and budget.
- Communicate regularly with key internal stakeholders, including project SPAs, business development, maintenance planners, turnaround planners, and construction contractors, to provide schedule updates and insights.
- Use tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam, and Procore to develop, maintain, and report on schedules and related project controls data.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by supporting the development of standardized scheduling practices and project controls processes.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience as a scheduler working on construction projects with general contractors or EPC organizations, with a stated requirement of 5 years of construction experience as a scheduler.
- Experience working on projects with budgets ranging from approximately $200,000 to $1 million or more.
- Proven experience in the energy sector or construction industry, with a preference for energy sector projects.
- Strong proficiency with Primavera P6 for schedule development, maintenance, and analysis.
- Experience in cost control, cost estimation, cost analysis, and cost management within construction projects.
- Background in project controls and construction management.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and forecasting.
- Experience using Bluebeam and Procore in a construction or project controls environment.
- Ability to develop and manage detailed and summary-level schedules, including resource loading and cash flow reporting.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate critical path and near-critical path activities and assess schedule risks.
- Ability to interpret design documents, understand site conditions, and translate them into actionable schedule activities.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with owners, design consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to perform site inspections to assess actual progress and update…
