Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Certified Crane Operator role located in the Greater Birmingham, Alabama Area. The Certified Crane Operator will safely operate cranes to lift, move, and place materials for site work, road construction, and underground utility projects. Daily tasks include performing pre-operation inspections, setting up and rigging loads, following load charts and lift plans, and coordinating with ground crews and supervisors to ensure efficient material handling.

The role requires strict adherence to safety protocols, documenting equipment checks, and reporting any mechanical issues or hazards. The operator will also assist with general jobsite duties as needed, support project timelines, and collaborate with team members to maintain a safe and organized work environment.

Qualifications

• Current crane operator certification (e.g., NCCCO or equivalent) and proven experience operating cranes on construction sites.
• Strong knowledge of crane load charts, rigging practices, signaling methods, and OSHA safety regulations.
• Experience working on site work, road construction, or water/sewer/storm piping projects is highly beneficial.
• Ability to read and follow lift plans, construction drawings, and supervisor instructions with attention to detail.
• Physical ability to work outdoors in varying conditions, stand for extended periods, and perform manual tasks as needed.
• Reliable transportation to job sites in the Greater Birmingham, Alabama Area and willingness to work standard construction hours.
• Effective communication skills, teamwork mindset, and commitment to a safety-first, non-discriminatory work environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational or safety training in heavy equipment operation is a plus.
