The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Dentistry, in conjunction with the local dental community, has launched an innovative community-care clinic to provide general dental services for Dothan, AL and the surrounding area. This state-of-the-art eight-chair clinic provides community-based patient care as well as a learning environment for rotating students from the UAB School of Dentistry. The Department of Clinical & Community Sciences invites applicants to apply for the unique opportunity to be a part-time dentist and faculty.
This position is a part-time, non-tenure earning, clinical track faculty appointment in the Division of Behavioral & Population Sciences.
Responsibilities include providing patient care, interactions with and direct supervision of clinical staff, and administrative duties related to the clinical teaching of dental students and residents. This faculty shall work with and support the Lead Dentist and Clinical Director of the clinic. The clinic fulfills an integral role of providing comprehensive oral care for patients in the Wiregrass region of the state.
Supervised students have the experience of patient care in a comprehensive/practice-based model and are exposed to a diverse community of patients. The clinic is equipped with state-of-the-art dental equipment, fully staffed and is housed in a medical complex facility.

Required QualificationsApplicants must have a DDS / DMD degree and be eligible for a dental license in Alabama. The successful applicant will be required to demonstrate innovation and collegiality within the academic environment and lead clinical practice. Excellent written and verbal English skills are required.
