Entry-Level Landscape Designer

Overview

Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC) is one of the largest privately-held architecture and engineering firms in the Southeast. GMC is seeking an Entry Level Landscape Designer to help support our projects and join our growing Birmingham, AL team.

• Work with other Landscape Architects and Planners in a support role
• Production of plans in CAD from the preliminary master plan phase through putting construction documents together for public bid
• Communicate with clients, engineers and architects on landscape projects, both written and orally
• Prepare layered, visual representations of verbally described outdoor areas, present the images to clients and edit them to fit changes suggested by clients
• Stay up to date on current practices and landscaping trends by engaging in continued research and education
• Create drafts to update existing public spaces to be more environmentally and economically friendly

• Bachelor of Landscape Architecture or Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture
• 0 to 2+ years of experience

• Working knowledge in one or more of the following programs:
• AutoCAD software
• Adobe Creative Suite
• Lumion
• Land-FX
• Sketch Up
• Rhino
