Responsibilities include producing detailed construction documents, managing FF&E selections, coordinating with vendors and contractors, and supporting presentations and client communications.

The ideal candidate demonstrates initiative, organization, and creativity, with a strong grasp of design standards and an eagerness to grow into greater leadership within the firm. This role offers the opportunity to deepen project experience and expand creative and technical skills alongside a team of experienced designers.

  • Review and approve purchase orders for accuracy and alignment with budgets, timelines, and project specifications.
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of FF&E for residential projects, including sourcing, pricing, and coordinating custom and off-the-shelf furnishings.
  • Specify appropriate materials and finishes that balance beauty, function, durability, and code compliance.
  • Apply a thorough understanding of kitchen and bath design, including layout standards, product selection, clearances, and code requirements.
  • Interpret and apply construction standards and best practices to ensure design solutions are buildable and well-coordinated with consultants and trades.
  • Create and manage product and furnishing orders through Design Manager or similar software, maintaining detailed records of order status, approvals, and delivery timelines.
  • Review shop drawings, material submittals, and samples for accuracy and consistency with project specifications, providing timely feedback or approvals.
  • Understand and translate client goals into thoughtful design solutions that reflect their lifestyle and preferences while upholding the firm’s design standards.
  • Support the preparation and delivery of client presentations, contributing strong visual and verbal communication skills to articulate design ideas with clarity and professionalism.

  • Manage select aspects of projects independently and step into a leadership role when the Senior Designer is unavailable, helping ensure continuity and progress.
  • Assist with construction administration tasks including site visits, punch lists, coordination with contractors, and follow-up on project details.
  • Stay current with vendors, materials, and product innovations to support informed design decisions and maintain a high standard of quality.
