The Planner/Project Manager is a mid-level role specializing in New Urbanist principles and Traditional Neighborhood Design, responsible for leading projects from concept to completion. This position oversees design and planning efforts, manages and mentors project teams, and fosters strong client relationships. Key responsibilities include guiding master planning and site strategies, ensuring design quality and regulatory compliance, collaborating with multidisciplinary partners, and supporting business development through proposals, presentations, and client engagement.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities :
  • Project Leadership: Lead projects from concept through entitlement, ensuring design integrity, technical quality, and client satisfaction.
  • Project Team Management: Supervise and mentor a team. Provide clear direction and regular feedback as appropriate.
  • Client Engagement: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients. Lead presentations, workshops, and coordination meetings.
  • Quality Control: Oversee project deliverables and ensure compliance with codes, regulations, and best practices.
  • Cross-Disciplinary

    Collaboration:

    Work closely with landscape architects, engineers, developers, and municipal stakeholders to build consensus.
  • Business Development: Support marketing efforts, proposal development, and participation in interviews and competitions.
  • Qualifications:
  • Passion for placemaking & walkable communities.
  • Professional degree in Architecture, Urban Design/Planning, or Landscape Architecture.
  • Licensure preferred: RA, AICP, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a project management role.
  • Proficiency in REVIT, Sketch Up, & Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage timelines, budgets, and multidisciplinary teams.
