Temporary Assistant Professor

The University of South Alabama Department of Physics invites applications for a non‑tenure track (9‑month, one‑year‑only) full‑time Assistant Professor position, starting August 15, 2026. Applicants should possess an earned doctoral degree in Physics, but ABD’s near completion of the degree will be considered. The successful candidate must show evidence of excellence in teaching as primary duties for this position include teaching a wide spectrum of introductory undergraduate courses (lecture and laboratory).

The University of South Alabama is a comprehensive, state‑supported institution with over 14,000 students. Currently the Physics Department has ten full‑time faculty and five part‑time instructors and offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics.
