Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Grade Levels: Ages 3 years old to 8th grade
Job Description:We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic Art Teacher to join our Montessori School team. This position requires a passion for art education and an ability to inspire students aged 5 to 14 to explore their creativity and develop their artistic skills. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing environment that encourages self-expression and appreciation for the arts. The art teacher will help set up art materials and lessons for Toddler and Primary students in the morning, in addition to planning time, and teach group lessons for students ages 5 years old through 8 grade from 11:00-3:00pm.
From 3:00-5:00pm, the instructor will teach smaller after school extracurricular activities to students 3 years old through 8 grade.
- Develop and implement an engaging art curriculum that aligns with Montessori principles, catering to the diverse needs of students from preschool to middle school.
- Teach various art techniques, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media, while encouraging exploration and experimentation.
- Organize and lead extracurricular art activities, including after-school programs, art clubs, and exhibitions.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes artistic expression and collaboration among students.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through individual feedback and assessments, adapting teaching methods to meet varying skill levels.
- Collaborate with other teachers to integrate art into the broader curriculum and school projects.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and involvement in art programs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field. (No exceptions)
- Previous teaching experience, preferably in a Montessori or similar educational setting.
- Strong skills in a variety of art mediums and techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a passion for working with children.
- Ability to create a supportive and inspiring artistic environment.
