Job DescriptionTo facilitate student comprehension and application of concepts skills and behaviors that contribute to the development of mature, able, and responsible members of society.
Duties and Responsibilities- Demonstrate support for the school system and its vision, goals, and priorities
- Provide a rigorous curriculum that aligns with the Alabama Department of Education (ALSDE) and Career & Technical Education (CTE) Course of Study
- Sponsor a Career Technical Education Student Organization (CTSO) and participate in at least one program-related competition per year
- Adhere to school system rules, administrative procedures, local board policies, and state and federal rules and regulations
- Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, parents, school and agency counselors, and related service providers in the overall educational plan for students enrolled in the education setting
- Assist in the development and implementation of the individual education service and transition plan for students enrolled in the education setting
- Engage in professional growth and demonstrate professional ethics and leadership
- Use current technology for instruction and management purposes
- Ability to compile and analyze data, and interpret the laws, policies, and regulations pertaining to the work
- Strong knowledge of PLTW, Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Effective oral and written communication
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering or in a related area
- Valid Alabama Class B Professional Educator Certificate in Math, General Science, Chemistry, or Physics
- NOCTI – Pre-Engineering/Engineering Technology (5915)
- 15 hours of earned State‑recognized professional learning/technical updates in Engineering.
- Must meet Every Student Succeed Act (ESSA) federal and state requirements or a willingness to meet the requirements within the designated timeframe.
