This rewarding opportunity is ideal for a qualified teacher with a strong background in Special Educational Needs (SEN) who is passionate about supporting pupils with additional learning needs to achieve their full potential academically, socially and emotionally. Working within a nurturing and well‑resourced environment, you will be responsible for delivering personalised learning experiences to a small class of pupils with a range of complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, SEMH needs, and moderate learning difficulties.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual pupil needs.
- Develop and implement personalised learning programmes aligned with EHCP targets and individual outcomes.
- Create a positive, structured and nurturing classroom environment that promotes confidence, independence and achievement.
- Utilise a range of evidence‑based SEN teaching strategies, including multi‑sensory and communication‑focused approaches.
- Monitor, assess and record pupil progress accurately, adapting provision where necessary.
- Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants to maximise pupil engagement and learning outcomes.
- Build strong relationships with parents, carers and external professionals to ensure consistency of support.
- Participate in annual reviews, multi‑agency meetings and professional development opportunities.
- Support pupils' emotional regulation, wellbeing and personal development.
- Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and contribute to a culture of inclusion and respect.
- Specialist provision supporting pupils with a wide range of additional needs.

- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Proven experience teaching pupils with Special Educational Needs.
- Strong understanding of EHCPs, SEND Code of Practice and inclusive teaching strategies.
- Experience supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
- Excellent behaviour management and relationship‑building skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching to meet diverse learning needs.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing.
- Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
- Experience working within specialist schools, resource bases or alternative provision settings.
- Additional SEN qualifications or specialist training.
- Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, communication needs or complex learning difficulties.
- Knowledge of sensory integration approaches, PECS, Makaton or similar communication systems.
