• Valid Alabama Special Education Certification (or eligibility for AL reciprocity—can be obtained within approximately six weeks)
• Proven background working with elementary age students (grades 3-6) in a special education or self-contained classroom setting
• Strong classroom management skills and compassion for students with varying needs
• Collaborative approach; comfortable working alongside 1-2 classroom aides
• Excellent organizational and communication skills

• Lead instruction and daily activities for a caseload of 5-6 students (potentially up to 8 as referrals occur)
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs
• Create an inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning and social-emotional development
• Coordinate with classroom aides and related service providers to support student success
• Track progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with district and state requirements
