Position: FAME Mechatronics Instructor "Jefferson Campus"

Teaching Position

Salary:
Based on education and experience commensurate with Alabama Community College System Salary Schedule D1 1B ($42,108.00-$94,363.00). This is a nine-month position. Summer employment may be available (an additional $13,001.00-$29,184.00) (3 months) dependent upon enrollment.

This is a full-time teaching position with responsibility for planning, preparation, and presentation of quality instruction and for otherwise contributing to the fulfillment of the college's mission. This position reports to the Associate Dean of Industrial Education.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for instruction in the appropriate teaching environment(s) and evaluation of student learning.
  • Responsible for class and laboratory preparation.
  • Participate in curriculum development and evaluation and recommend new or revised curriculum.
  • Provide academic advising to students.
  • Perform department/program responsibilities.
  • Attend the FAME AMT (Advanced Manufacturing Technician) Academy and incorporate the Manufacturing Core Exercises (MCEs) and FAME soft skills into daily instruction.
  • Interact regularly with FAME industry partners to stay current with changing needs and promote positive and productive relationships.
  • Attend Magic City FAME Chapter meetings.
  • Responsible for recruiting students and prospective employer partners for the Magic City FAME Chapter.
  • Perform institutional responsibilities that contribute to the fulfillment of the College's mission.
  • Follow institutional policies and procedures and fulfill the terms of one's employment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Serve on College committees as assigned.
  • Qualifications

    Education:

    Associate degree or equivalent in Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or related field required

    Experience:

    Minimum of three (3) years of full-time related work experience as a practitioner in the field required

    Prior teaching experience preferred

    Hands-on knowledge of DC/AC Theory, Solid State Devices, Programmable Logic Controllers, Motor Controls, Mechanical Maintenance, Hydraulic Systems, Gearboxes, Electric Motors, Predictive and Preventative Maintenance, VFDs, Fluid Power and Robotics preferred
