Job Summary

The Political Science department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison seeks to hire a distinguished Full Professor whose work advances the university’s priorities in American elections research. Candidates should possess an internationally recognized research program in elections and electoral politics and a proven track record of securing external funding.

• Teach graduate and undergraduate courses.

• Conduct scholarly research that furthers the field of elections and electoral politics.
• Provide service to the department, College of Letters & Science, the university, and the broader academic community.
• Advance the educational mission of the College of Letters & Science, fostering an inclusive environment that values evidence‑based and student‑centered teaching.

• Ph.D. in Political Science or a related discipline by the start of appointment.

• Rank of Full Professor with a nationally or internationally recognized research program in elections and electoral politics.
• Established track record of securing external funding.
• Demonstrated ability to create an inclusive teaching, learning, mentoring, and research environment where all can thrive.
