Position Summary The Undergraduate Clinical Coordinator is a faculty member appointed at the discretion of the Senior Associate Dean with approval by the Dean to provide leadership and oversight of the clinical placements in the Undergraduate Nursing Programs
Detailed Position Information
A. Administrative:
- Manage student clinical placement and monitor student compliance with health and clinical requirements under the supervision of the Traditional BSN Coordinator, ensuring all Traditional BSN students meet institutional, clinical agency, and regulatory standards prior to clinical placement.
- Maintain ongoing communication with clinical agencies throughout the year to coordinate student placements, address site-specific requirements, and ensure strong partnerships that support high-quality clinical experiences as directed by the Traditional BSN Coordinator.
- Submit Undergraduate Clinical Coordinator report to the Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Programs quarterly.
- Collaborate with the Traditional BSN Program Coordinator and the Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Programs (ADUP) to ensure clinical student placements that comply with the most recent national standards and competencies (e.g., AACN Essentials).
- Seeks approval by the Traditional BSN Coordinator to create and execute affiliation agreements of clinical partners with UA Legal and the CCN Clinical Placement Office.
- Collaborate with the Traditional BSN Program Coordinator, undergraduate faculty, and program staff to support undergraduate students in achieving satisfactory clinical performance and to ensure high quality, well coordinated clinical learning experiences.
- Participate in the onboarding and orientation process for new faculty by providing guidance on program policies, clinical expectations, and clinical resources to support a successful transition in to the Traditional BSN Program.
- Participate in upper division student orientation to provide specific guidance on program policies, outline academic and clinical expectations, and foster engagement and connection with CCN resources, faculty, and staff.
- Collaborate with the Traditional BSN Program Coordinator, the ADUP, and the ADEA to gather and analyze feedback to assess placement effectiveness, ensure alignment with program objectives, and recommend improvements for continuous quality enhancement.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Teach primarily at the undergraduate or at the graduate level, including, but not limited to, advising Doctor of Nursing Practice projects and serving as chair or as a member on dissertation committees for research doctorate students.

Participate in research/scholarly activities in accordance with faculty role/rank expectations and workload guidelines.
D. Service:
Serve as a resource person for faculty and students in the undergraduate programs and participate in service activities in accordance with faculty role expectations and annual contract.

Minimum Qualifications
A. Doctoral degree
B. Experience with undergraduate student supervision.
C. Current or eligible for multi-state licensure as a registered nurse in Alabama
D. Successful teaching experience
