Overview
The Department of Biology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks candidates for a full‑time temporary Assistant Professor (Teaching Faculty) position in Biology. This position is a one‑year, nine‑month faculty position with potential for renewal for one additional year based on performance.
Responsibilities- Teach introductory biology courses for majors and additional core courses (e.g., genetics, microbiology, physiology, etc.).
- Ph.D. in biology or related discipline.
- Laboratory- and/or field-based research experience.
- Track record of teaching excellence.
- Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Experience in teaching undergraduate biology.
- Experience in developing instructional laboratory curricula.
- Experience in online course development and teaching.
- Experience teaching to large enrollment classes of science majors.
