Job Summary
Are you passionate about the fraternity and sorority experience—and eager to be part of an energetic and creative team? Join the dynamic team at the University of Wisconsin–Madison as our next Fraternity & Sorority Life Specialist. In this role you will shape and lead programmatic and project areas that support belonging, leadership, and harm prevention for more than 6,000 fraternity and sorority members across 65+ chapters.
Key Job Responsibilities- Schedule logistics and secure resources to support the operational plans of the program or unit.
- Monitor the program budget and approve expenditures.
- Exercise supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 FTE or equivalent employees.
- Plan, organize, administer, and manage processes and operations related to assigned area(s) of responsibility.
- Monitor, evaluate, and modify processes, procedures, and/or standards, ensuring alignment with the institution's mission, values, goals, and objectives, as well as all local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
- Serve as the program or unit liaison to internal and external stakeholder groups.
- Advises and enforces institution policies related to services in the Student Affairs Department:
Wisconsin Union, Social Education, Fraternity & Sorority Life (FSL).
- Three years of minimum experience working with fraternities/sororities on a campus or national organization.
- Experience supporting culturally based fraternal organizations (CBFOs).
- Demonstrated understanding of harm prevention and reduction strategies.
- Demonstrated understanding of student learning and curriculum design and facilitating educational programs.
- Experience advising college students.
- Strong commitment to equity.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Education:
Bachelor’s Degree required;
Master’s Degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education, or related field preferred.

The expected starting salary for the position is $57,795. The university is currently recruiting for two positions.
