Position Summary
The position requires teaching primarily mathematics courses at Paul
D. Camp Community College. Full‑time faculty will teach the equivalent of 15–20 credit hours per semester, which may include a mixture of day and night classes across the Franklin, Suffolk, Smithfield campuses and online. Faculty may also work during evenings and weekends as needed.
Creating a learning environment that facilitates students' acquisition of knowledge and skills in mathematics. Includes instructional design, delivery, effectiveness, and expertise.
Engage in scholarly and/or creative activity such as conference attendance, presentations, research, publications, and grant activity.
Participate in the college's development and evaluation plan, attend required department, committee, and college meetings, adhere to policies, perform assigned duties, and maintain collegial relationships with faculty and staff.
Participate in quality activities for students, the college, and the community, including college representation and citizenship.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned and may assist the agency or state government in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
Qualifications- Minimum of a master's degree from a regionally accredited institution with 18 graduate semester hours in mathematics.
- Teaching experience.
- Ability to design and implement curricula aligning student learning with educational goals.
- Ability to develop and adapt teaching and learning strategies for diverse student populations.
- Knowledge of methods to teach mathematics through distance learning.
- Ability to use technology for communication, data organization, course materials, and presentations.
- Ability to use formative and summative assessment measures to evaluate and enhance student learning.
- Knowledge of and experience with proven teaching strategies that promote student success.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Commitment to continual improvement of discipline knowledge.
- Full‑time teaching experience.
- Community college or four‑year college teaching experience.
- Experience with alternative delivery methods, including online, hybrid, and Hyflex courses.
- Knowledge of academic advising.
- Willingness to incorporate AI into mathematics education.
- Experience incorporating technology into education.
Between Franklin, Suffolk, and Smithfield campus locations.
