Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
  • Possession of a valid Alabama Professional Certificate.
  • Compliance with Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) federal and state requirements.
  • Strong understanding of IEP (Individualized Education Program) development and implementation.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Dedication to fostering inclusive and supportive classroom environments.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver specially designed instruction to students in both self-contained and resource classrooms, ensuring progress toward IEP goals.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service staff to support student achievement.
  • Develop, review, and update IEPs in partnership with families and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Differentiate instructional techniques to address the unique strengths and challenges of each student.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with district, state, and federal policies.
  • Participate in professional development and ongoing training to enhance instructional practices.
