The Middle School Student Minister will provide leadership and oversight for all aspects of the ministry for 6th-8th grades while working in concurrence with the overall vision, mission, and values of Double Oak Community Church. The Middle School Student Minister will also work in collaborative partnership with the High School Student Minister to reach and disciple the whole student ministry at Double Oak Community Church.
The Middle School Student Minister should be a person of genuine faith in Christ who is uniquely called, gifted, and equipped with the knowledge, passion, and proven track record of reaching and discipling middle school students. Prior experience leading student ministry in a church context is required.
The Middle School Student Minister will be the point of contact and connection for all students, parents, leaders, and volunteers within your span of care. Responsibilities and leadership that are unique to the Middle School Student Minister include:
- Cast vision for community, maturity, and fellowship in middle school community groups
- Provide direct oversight and supervision to the scope and sequence of curriculum and all resources used to disciple middle school students
- Create worship experiences that reach and engage middle school students
- Recruit and train volunteer leaders
- Plan a yearly calendar that accurately reflects the core values of DOCC
- Develop ministry plans that effectively meet the discipleship needs of middle school students
Education- A Master of Divinity or its equivalent is preferred. A bacherlor's degree with experience in youth ministry will be considered.
Compensation
- Compensation within the stated range will be commensurate with education and experience. Benefits for this full‑time position include health, dental, and vision insurance.
Double Oak Community Church is a theologically conservative community church in the Baptist tradition located in the planned community of Mt. Laurel, south of the Birmingham metro area.
