Chance Light Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education is a growing, dynamic organization with a social mission to offer hope. We seek an Instructional Aide 1:1 to join our award‑winning Special Education team.

Pay: $16 - $17 per hour, based on experience. Final offers extended based on experience, qualifications, and other job‑related details.

As an Instructional Aide 1:1, you’ll provide individualized support, supervision, and guidance to assigned students in Grades K-12. You will collaborate closely with classroom educators to implement each student’s individualized education plan (IEP) and tailor instruction to unique learning needs, both in the classroom and in community settings.

• Collaborate with classroom teachers to cultivate a supportive, welcoming, high‑achieving learning environment.
• Implement engaging, individualized instruction and behavioral interventions on‑site and in community settings.
• Instruct and closely monitor students during lessons, ensuring instructional fidelity and applying targeted strategies to enhance comprehension and course completion.
• Track progress, communicate with teachers about successes and areas needing intervention.
• Manage student behavior effectively, reinforce school policies, and apply consistent disciplinary measures.
• Support and mentor students facing academic challenges and help develop essential community, vocational, domestic, academic, and social skills.
• Complete clear, accurate, and timely documentation of student behaviors and performance; report observations and recommendations.
• Assist with daily activity logs, behavioral reports, and other necessary documentation.
• Communicate proactively and clearly with students, colleagues, supervisors, and families about needs, achievements, and concerns.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of all student records.
• Participate in assurance and accreditation activities to achieve site performance standards.
• Attend school‑wide, student‑parent, and advisory meetings to foster collaborative support networks.
• Respond positively and constructively to feedback, demonstrating continuous professional growth.
• Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support student success and community effectiveness.

• High school diploma or equivalent with passage of a basic skills test.
• Associate degree or higher in education or a closely related field preferred.
• Licensed paraprofessional or in the process of obtaining an AL state credential preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain certification in company‑approved crisis management training.
• Prior experience providing instruction, guidance, and/or support to children, preferably in special education or behavioral health settings.
• Experience working with students with learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, emotional behavioral disorders, or related disabilities.
• Ability to act quickly and calmly in emergencies and make independent decisions.
• Strong motivational skills and willingness to adapt to changing priorities.
• Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving, and decision‑making abilities.
• Knowledge of relevant technology, including instruction technology, Microsoft Office, database entry, and basic office equipment.
