This is a general job description for project-based work. Specific rates and scope of work will be outlined in an email for each assignment.
Position OverviewCAMP seeks reliable, detail-oriented seasonal contractors to support various aspects of our programming. Contractors work on project-based assignments including ACT prep instruction, curriculum development, grading and assessment, one-day bootcamps, and other program delivery activities. This is an ideal opportunity for college students, educators, or recent graduates looking for flexible, meaningful work that directly supports student success.
Key ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities vary by project assignment and may include:
- ACT Prep Instruction:
Deliver high-quality ACT prep instruction to high school juniors following provided curriculum materials, presentation slides, and facilitation guides. Engage students through question-driven teaching, immediate feedback during practice, and strategic classroom management. - Grading and Assessment:
Evaluate student work using established rubrics and scoring guidelines. Provide constructive feedback that supports student learning and improvement. Can include grading CERT answer sheets. - Curriculum Development:
Assist in creating or refining curriculum materials, including presentation content, practice activities, handouts, and facilitation notes. Ensure materials are accurate, age-appropriate, and aligned with program goals. - Bootcamp Support:
Support intensive one-day bootcamp events through instruction, student supervision, materials preparation, or logistical coordination. - Administrative Support:
Complete required documentation including timesheets, attendance records, and progress reports. Includes anything that may support programming behind the scene.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to engage diverse student populations
- Reliable, punctual, and professional in all interactions
- Ability to follow detailed instructions
- Proficient with Google Suite
- Flexible schedule with availability during school, after-school, and/or weekends (for instruction-based roles)
- Background check clearance required for any student-facing roles
Will vary based on scope of project
- Experience working with high school students or in educational settings
- Familiarity with ACT test format and content (for instruction roles)
- Experience with curriculum development or instructional design (for curriculum roles)
- Knowledge of college access programs or educational equity initiatives
- Compensation:
Rates may be hourly or project-based depending on assignment type; competitive and commensurate with experience. Specific rates and scope of work will be outlined in an email for each project. - Schedule:
Varies by project; seasonal and project-based with flexible hours - Classification:
Independent contractor (1099)
