Job Title

The Samford One Stop strives to provide a caring, efficient, highly trained, customer service-oriented team to assist all Samford students (prospective, current, and former) with becoming fiscally responsible global citizens.

Job Duties
  • Communicating pertinent information and instructions to students, parents, and campus departments regarding the application, delivery and responsibilities for loans, grants, work study, and scholarship programs.
  • Advising students regarding financing options, from federal, private, and institutional aid sources and helping them to identify the best option for their educational plans.
  • Representing Samford University at recruiting events, new student orientations, and various state and regional meetings as required.
  • Remaining current on financial aid information, policies, and procedures to ensure federal and state aid compliance.
  • Assessing enrollment issues that impact enrollment certifications and works with department and/or students to determine an appropriate resolution, if applicable (i.e., registration changes, petitions, withdrawals, grade changes, etc.).
  • Advising students and parents regarding charges on student accounts, including billing, payment due dates, payment plans, and payment methods, Remain current on general Samford knowledge, including academics and student life.
  • Attend continuing education and professional development events and conferences.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Detail-oriented with the capacity to learn vast amounts of new information.
  • Effective communicator with sensitivity to the needs and desires of students, parents, faculty, and staff.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Team player who can work collaboratively across department and university lines.
  • Organized, deadline-oriented, and capable of managing competing priorities.
  • Ability to multitask and handle frequent interruptions throughout the workday.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information responsibly.
  • Ability to take initiative in identifying and solving problems.
  • Commitment to integrity and the Samford Code of Values.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time throughout the workday.
  • Possible occasional travel for training and professional development.
  • Occasional lifting of standard office supplies, up to 20 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Banner.
  • Experience working in higher education.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state and general financial aid regulations.
