Responsibilities
Alabama Clinical Schools has been a behavioral healthcare provider in the Birmingham area for over 20 years. Our treatment services range from intensive residential treatment for males ages 9-18 to therapeutic foster care for males and females of all ages. Our RISE and Specialized Therapeutic Foster Care programs for boys are the only programs of their kind in the State of Alabama.
Our mission is simple: to enrich lives of at-risk youth and their families by delivering quality behavioral and educational services while fostering a safe transition to the community.
This position is for our Bessemer Group Home. He/she will plan curriculum, classroom schedule, and prepares lesson plans and other instructional materials to meet individual need of students, considering state and school requirements, physical, emotional, and education levels of development. Demonstrates knowledge of IEP and treatment planning process by reviewing referral assessment data to obtain each student’s history, issues, and disabilities.
Prepares for IEP and treatment planning meetings, providing current, specific data and creating appropriate goals and objectives. Develops and employs strategies and interventions by monitoring and evaluating student progress.

- Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university.
- 1-2 years related experience.
- Valid state teacher’s license and/or appropriate endorsement.
- Must be able to have a successful drug screen and background check (includes criminal history, Child Abuse and Neglect Registry, and ABI/FBI fingerprint check).
