MINISTER TO STUDENTS

The Minister to Students is primarily responsible for the overall ministry to Students Grades 6
-12. As a member of the Dawson Ministerial Staff Team, the Minister to Students is expected to reflect the Christian values of Dawson in all relationships at work and the community as well as in personal, business, and family relationships.

• A living growing relationship with God through His Son
• Deliberately and intentionally sharing good news of Jesus Christ with the unsaved
• Assimilating guests and new members into the Family of Faith through service
• Developing leadership through ministry and service
• Tithing the income earned from church to the ministry budget of the church.
• Support the vision and mission statements of the church
• Living by guidelines provided in the Dawson Employee Policies Manual

• Personnel Committee
• Church in Business Conference

• Overall supervision and leadership to student ministry and student ministry staff
• Student Bible studies (small groups and Sunday morning Life Groups)
• Wednesday night programming
• Year-round activities (camps, mission trips, etc)
• Outreach for students and their families

• Teach: must be a strong teacher that understands how to communicate the gospel of Jesus Christ
• Lead: must be able to lead both students and adult leadership (this is not limited to but includes organizational skills, coaching ability & ability to learn)
• Communicate: be able to effectively communicate truth from God’s Word to students, must understand the importance of and follow-through communicating with other staff, students, parents and student leadership
• Prepare: this includes but is not limited to meetings, programs, etc. that you lead and/or participate in
• Learn:
  Master’s degree from seminary is preferred

• Work as a team player with all the ministries of Dawson.
• Oversee, encourage, and lead the two Associate Minister to Students, and Student Ministry Interns through frequent communication and working together as a team.
• Recruit and train Life Group leadership: recruit, motivate and empower individuals within the Dawson Church Family in order to impact the lives of students for Christ.
• Help give students the tools they need to grow in their relationship with Christ.
• Develop leadership among students: provide opportunities for students to be actively involved in ministries that are designed around their strengths.
• Plan, organize, and carry out programs and trips that help shape student’s lives with the goal of helping them to become and help others become faithful servants of Jesus Christ.
• Promote unity within the Student Ministry to reflect our vision and mission as a church.
