POSITION SUMMARY

The Professional Learning Specialist supports the Expanding Learning Possibilities (ELP) curriculum and digital modules through live, virtual, and hybrid training sessions to:

  • Help participants apply what they learn in the modules to daily classroom and After school settings.
  • Inform future revisions of modules by sharing participant feedback
  • Align professional development sessions with the learning modules and After school curriculum

This role works independently and collaboratively to ensure high-quality professional development delivery while maintaining strong partner relationships and managing program logistics and instructional teams. The Professional Learning Specialist ensures compliance with partner contracts, supports data collection and reporting, and oversees Professional learning for the ELP sites through CAMP.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES Professional Learning Design & Delivery
  • Design and facilitate PD sessions from ELP modules and After school curriculum, adapting delivery to the audience and format.
  • Guide participants through content, activities, and reflection, modeling effective instructional practice.
  • Manage pacing, engagement, and group dynamics to keep sessions productive.
Coaching & Individualized Support
  • Coach teachers, staff, and Hub contacts as they apply ELP strategies in their own settings.
  • Provide follow-up support between sessions and troubleshoot implementation challenges.
  • Build participants’ confidence and independence with new instructional strategies and tools.
Alignment with ELP Content
  • Coordinate with colleagues to keep sessions on the current, approved module version.
  • Flag inconsistencies or gaps between module content and what participants need in practice.
  • Submit session materials, handouts, and any newly created or modified content for review before use, to confirm alignment with CAMP/ELP style guides, brand standards, and current module content.
  • Stay current on adult learning research, emerging technologies, and PD best practices.
Systems, Tracking & Rollout
  • Build and maintain the frameworks and structures that guide professional learning, including the ELP Playbook.
  • Maintain tracking systems for session planning, attendance, completion, and participant progress.
  • Lead the rollout of professional learning at selected Hubs, partnering with the Hub contacts on consistent structure and quality.
  • Share participant feedback and facilitation trends.
Relationship Building & Visibility
  • Build and maintain relationships with teachers, school leaders, and district staff.
  • Represent CAMP and ELP professionally in school and district settings; identify opportunities to expand reach.
  • Write one original blog post per month and complete one guest blog post per month.
Facilitation Presence & Professionalism
  • Create a warm, engaging environment where educators feel comfortable learning and asking questions.
  • Communicate clearly and adapt explanations to different experience levels and learning styles.
  • Build trust and rapport with teachers, staff, and school leaders.
  • Stay flexible and responsive when session plans need to adjust in real time.
  • Live the CAMP Way in every interaction with educators, school leaders, and partners.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Professional Learning Specialists will be evaluated based on:

  • Session plans, agendas, and materials for each PD offering
  • Facilitated PD sessions for teachers, school leaders, and After school staff
  • 1:1 or small-group coaching and follow-up support for participants and Hub contacts
  • Participant satisfaction and engagement in PD sessions, measured by post-session surveys (85% or higher satisfaction rates)
  • Improvement in teachers' and staff's application of ELP strategies
  • “Expanding Learning Possibilities” Playbook kept current and accurate
  • Attendance, completion, and progress tracking, kept current for Hub outreach and reporting
  • Strong, growing relationships with participating schools and districts
  • At least one original blog post and one guest blog post written per month
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
  • At least three years of classroom teaching or educational coaching experience.
