Provide students with knowledge and processes needed to begin their attainment of technological literacy and awareness of careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Studentsgainknowledgeandskillsintheapplication,design,production,and assessmentofproducts, services,and systems inavarietyof areas.

• Providerigorouscurriculumthatalignswith Alabama Department of Education  (ALSDE) and Career & Technical Education (CTE) Course of Study.
• Sponsorsa Career Technical Education Student Organization (CTSO) andparticipatesin at least one program-related competition per year.
• Demonstratesupportfortheschoolsystemanditsvision,goals,and priorities.
• Adherestoschoolsystemrules,administrative procedures,localboardpolicies,andstate and federal rules and regulations.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, parents, school and agency counselorsandrelatedserviceprovidersintheoveralleducationalplanforstudents enrolled in the education setting.
• Assistinthedevelopmentandimplementationoftheindividualeducationserviceand transition plan for students enrolled in the education setting.
• Instructstudentsinaprogramofstudywhichmeetsstatedobjectivesandprepares students to master grade level standards.
• Instructstudentsincitizenshipandbasicsubject matterspecifiedinstatelawandpolicies and procedures of Birmingham City Schools.
• Collaboratewithteachersandotherstoprovideinstructionsthatarerealisticintermsof current and future job specifications.
• Develop lesson plans and supplementary materials compatible with curriculum standards;providesindividualizedandsmallgroupinstructioninordertoadaptthe curriculum to the needs of each student and subgroups of students.
• Translatelessonplansintolearningexperiencestobestutilizetheavailabletimefor instruction and to actively engage students.
• Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learningatmosphereintheclassroombyprovidingpositivereinforcementofacceptable behaviors and modifying unacceptable behaviors.
• Evaluate academic and social growth of students, prepare report cards, and keeps appropriaterecordstoincludeattendancereports,andotherrecordkeepingactivitiesas necessary.
• Communicateregularlywithparentsorguardians throughconferencesandother means
• todiscussstudent progress.
• Superviseandmonitorsstudentmovementandescortsstudentstoresources,bathrooms, buses, cafeteria, room changes and other activities in the building.
• Maintainsanenvironmentwhichisconducivetolearningwithparticularattentionto safety practices, good housekeeping, and student behavior.
• Administerstandardizedtesting.
• Modelnondiscriminatorypracticesinallactivities.
• Performotherdutiesasassigned.

• Abachelor’sdegreeorhigherfromanaccreditedcollegeoruniversity,preferably in science, technology, math.
• Must have a valid Alabama Teacher's Certificate in Agriscience Education, Business/Marketing Education,Career Technologies,Familyand Consumer Science  Education,Health Science,orTechnical
  
  Education;oreligibleforCTEcertification; participate in CTE-TCP; must have or complete Certification add-on for Computer Science Discoveries.
• Mustmeet Every Student Succeed Act (ESSA) federalandstate requirementora willingness to meet the requirements within the designated timeframe.
