Position: Computer Science Instructor \"Jefferson/Shelby Campuses\"

Salary
:
Based on education and experience commensurate with Alabama Community College System Salary Schedule D1 ($43,792.00-$98,138.00). This is a nine-month position. Summer employment may be available (an additional $13,521-$30,351) dependent upon enrollment.

This is a full-time teaching position with responsibility for planning, preparation, and presentation of quality instruction and for otherwise contributing to the fulfillment of the college’s mission. This position reports to the Department Chairperson and Associate Dean.

In addition to adhering to the policies and guidelines of the College and the ACCS Board of Trustees the employee will:

Provide instruction in the appropriate teaching environment(s) and evaluate student learning.

Prepare class and laboratory presentations.

Participate in curriculum development and evaluation and also recommend new or revised curriculum.

Provide academic advising to students.

Perform department/program responsibilities.

Perform institutional responsibilities that contribute to the fulfillment of the college’s mission.

Follow institutional policies and procedures and fulfill the terms of employment.

Commitment to teaching and to helping students, an abiding interest in their field, and a desire to help the college maintain the standards appropriate to an institution of higher education.

Ability to maintain rapport with colleagues and students and to conduct themselves with a high level of professionalism.

Fulfill other duties and responsibilities as delegated by the President or academic dean.

Education
:
Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in Computer Science required

Experience
:
Three to five years of professional experience preferred

Proficiency in both verbal and written English Communications
Current knowledge in Computer Programming
Quantum Computing
Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning
Secure (Defensive) Programming Techniques
Data Analytics
Experience with Web Development (Type Script, Boot Strap, Angular)
Experience with Strongly-Typed languages (C++, C#, Java)
Experience with Loosely-Typed languages (Python, Go-Lang, JavaScript)
Database design and development (SQL, Oracle)
Systems analysis and design
Cloud Computing Concepts
Operating Systems (Windows, Linux/Unix)
Web assisted instruction using Canvas & Teams
Preferred knowledge in CAE (Centers for Academic Excellence)
Microsoft Office
