JOB PURPOSE:

The Apple Foundation Senior Mentor supports the delivery of engaging, hands-on learning experiences for participants in Apple Foundation program while serving as an instructional leader across regions. Senior Mentors facilitate learner experiences in coding and design while also supporting mentor development, curriculum improvement, and regional program implementation. This role helps ensure learning experiences remain current, relevant, and aligned with emerging technologies and workforce trends.

This role is a part of a collaborative team culture that values innovation, shared learning, and continuous improvement. Senior Mentors are expected to model growth, contribute ideas, and help elevate both learners and fellow team members.

Senior Mentors collaborate across disciplines (code and design) and support cross-functional learning when appropriate.

EXPECTATIONS:
The day-to-day job responsibilities will fluctuate seasonally throughout the school year. Below is a list of
the job responsibilities overall.

• Standard availability Monday - Friday 11:00 - 8:00 PM CST with the flexibility to book outside of standard business hours based on organizational needs

Facilitation and Instruction

• Lead and support digital learning sessions
• Guide learners through projects, app prototypes, and experiential activities
• Reinforce learner application of program CBL frameworks and real-world problem solving
• Foster an engaging, inclusive environment where experimentation and growth are encouraged

Curriculum and Content Development

• Design, update, and maintain guided activities, practices, and instructional materials
• Maintain the Apple Foundations curriculum and guided activity repository to ensure content remains organized and current
• Incorporate emerging tools, technologies, and industry practices into learner experiences
• Support continuous improvement through curriculum feedback and iteration

Mentor Training and Regional Support

• Train and onboard new mentors across locations
• Facilitate mentor development sessions and instructional calibration
• Support regional implementation and training aligned to organizational goals
• Serve as a resource for mentor coaching, classroom facilitation, and learner engagement strategies

Program Support and Collaboration

• Participate in planning, team meetings, and instructional reviews
• Collaborate with Community Leads, Success Coaches, and leadership to strengthen outcomes
• Support events, showcases, training sessions, and other program activities as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED required
• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
• 3+ years of experience in coding, design, education, or related field
• Demonstrated experience leading projects, facilitating learning, or mentoring others
• Portfolio of technical, design, instructional, or facilitation work preferred
• Experience developing instructional content or learning experiences preferred
