Job DescriptionThe Structural Engineer 2 position calls for an individual with over 10 years of experience in the heavy industrial or power plant sector, coupled with an accredited bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering. The role involves providing structural engineering services, as well as producing and checking structural steel design calculations and drawings.
Responsibilities- Provide structural engineering services.
- Produce and review structural steel design calculations and drawings.
- Demonstrate detailed knowledge of structural steel design principles and industry methodologies.
- Design structural steel connections.
- Ensure proficiency with structural codes and standards.
- Apply extensive knowledge of heavy industrial structures and components.
- Utilize strong computer skills, including proficiency with structural computer programs such as STAAD PRO.
- 10+ years of experience in heavy industrial or power plant environments.
- Accredited bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering.
- Expertise in structural steel design principles and industry methodologies.
- Significant experience with structural steel connection design.
- Proficiency with structural codes and standards.
- In-depth knowledge of heavy industrial structures and components.
- Strong computer skills, particularly with STAAD PRO.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in structural engineering, structural design, and analysis.
- Familiarity with concrete and structural steel.
This is a Contract position based out of Birmingham, AL. The position offers remote flexibility with some travel to generation sites in Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
