AECOM is seeking a
Senior Mechanical Engineer
to support our multi-disciplinary design team addressing the most challenging engineering tasks in power generation. AECOM's broad technical capabilities, global footprint and experience in executing large scale projects uniquely position us to lead in traditional steam, thermal power generation and advanced nuclear technologies.

This includes being a part of the first-of-a-kind program with AECOM partners advancing the innovative stellarator technology to the world.

For this role, AECOM offers the freedom and flexibility to work remotely and/or be located at a variety of Energy offices located in multiple locations across the United States.

The successful candidate will have a high level of understanding and experience in mechanical engineering design and technology principles for process/mechanical and generation projects.

The responsibilities of this role also include, but may not be limited to, the following:

• Responsible for the mechanical engineering design work on assigned projects
• Serve as lead engineer on all size projects maintaining responsibility for deliverable development
• Coordination with the mechanical piping design team to direct completion of engineering drawings
• Multi-discipline collaboration on the development of equipment general arrangements, P&’s, isometrics, asset and tie-in lists, orthographic, etc.
• Provides technical expertise for risk assessments, due diligence and other studies presenting complex technical solutions to clients.
• Generate applicable mechanical engineering deliverables to support all phases of scope development – Feasibility through Detail Design
• Develop construction and equipment specifications and material requisitions
• Home office support of projects during construction, start-up, and commissioning
• Performs quality control reviews of work developed by others
• Participate in project and client meetings
• Interact with vendors, regulatory agencies and contractors
• Assist with internal and external presentations
• Occasional travel to client and/or project sites

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• BA/BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field + 6years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Experience in Mechanical Engineering for Power Generation Facilities
