Pike Engineering is seeking an experienced Professional Engineer (PE required) to provide technical leadership for transmission substation projects. This role supports both engineering design and project delivery, ensuring safe, high‑quality, and cost‑effective solutions for our utility clients.
What You’ll Do- Lead civil/structural design for substation foundations, structural steel, and layout packages
- Solve complex engineering challenges and serve as engineer of record
- Oversee project schedules, budgets, and deliverables
- Prepare technical reports, calculations, drawings, and documentation
- Support proposals, estimates, and business development
- Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and contractors
- Mentor junior engineers and provide discipline guidance
- Visit project sites and support construction‑phase solutions
- Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (ABET‑accredited)
- 5–7 years in power delivery or electric utility engineering
- Active PE license
- Strong technical writing, communication, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision
- Experience creating substation structural and foundation designs
- Field or construction experience
- Proficiency with structural modeling tools
- Ability to develop scopes, budgets, and schedules
