Field Engineering Specialist – Donor Screening Business Support
In this role you will support Roche’s Donor Screening business, providing technical repair, on‑site service, and maintenance for Roche product lines in the assigned territory.
Responsibilities- Showcase technical repair expertise for Roche assigned product lines.
- Offer valuable service to laboratory customers within the assigned territory.
- Provide routine technical support, on‑site service, and repair of Roche products.
- Serve as a customer contact for technical and service‑related issues, performing preventative maintenance.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hardware, software, and system failures.
- Document all activities, contribute to quality improvement, and maximize customer satisfaction.
- High school diploma and 2 years of technical school or equivalent military training or work experience.
- 5 years of progressive experience repairing or servicing mechanical or system hardware and software, networking/wireless, or a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field plus 1–2 years of progressive experience in the same area.
- Certification or successful training as defined by RD Services Leadership and policy.
- Ability to travel, including some overnight travel; this role is based in Hoover, AL (up to 25% travel).
- 8+ years of progressive experience, or a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field plus 4+ years of progressive experience.
- Advanced knowledge of electronics, electro‑mechanical systems, information technology, and basic chemistry.
- Ability to serve as an internal technical resource, provide support after hours and on weekends/holidays, and maintain strong customer relationships.
Travel Requirements: Up to 25% travel, including some overnight travel.

Salary: $71,100 – $132,000 USD per year, based on experience, qualifications, and geographic location. A discretionary annual bonus may be available, and the position qualifies for benefits as detailed on Roche’s benefits page.
