Sr Mechanical HVAC Engineer

Currently, we are searching for an Senior Mechanical Engineer (HVAC Systems) to fulfill an immediate full-time vacancy.

This position is a Full-Time, Direct Hire role that sits in a hybrid onsite environment (3–4 days per week onsite) in the Birmingham, AL area, with flexibility based on project phase and workload.

• Serve as the senior technical lead for building mechanical systems
  , including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection, across multiple active projects
• Collaborate within cross-functional design and project teams
  , contributing from early concept through construction, commissioning, and handover
• Review, approve, and guide mechanical designs produced by junior engineers and designers using tools such as Revit and AutoCAD
• Provide technical oversight and troubleshooting support during manufacturing and construction execution phases
• Participate in the development and continuous improvement of engineering standards, best practices, and system templates
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure designs meet performance, schedule, and code requirements
• Balance work across projects at different lifecycle stages, shifting between new design and active build support as needed

• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license (required)
• 10+ years of hands‑on experience in building systems engineering
  , specifically HVAC and plumbing design (manufacturing or machine design backgrounds will not be considered)
• Demonstrated ability to mentor, guide, and technically lead junior engineers and designers
• Strong knowledge of applicable building and mechanical codes, standards, and regulations
• Experience working within multidisciplinary project teams and managing competing technical priorities
• Proficiency with building design tools and workflows (Revit, AutoCAD, and/or VDC environments strongly preferred)
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical partners
