An experienced Electrical Safety Test Engineer is required to work for a UK based company in the Preston, Lancashire area. The role has been created due to their significant year on year growth. The ideal candidate will have experience of product testing and technical knowledge of safety requirements e.g. ATEX, EMC, LVD, MDD or Machinery Directive.
The role- New product testing in accordance with EU directives and EN standards such as Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU, EN 60335, etc.
- Responsible for the quality and safety approval of a wide range of consumer products
- Producing the annual budget for testing requirements
- Responsible for safety, quality, compliance and ethical issues
- Working with vendors, Far East suppliers and test houses to ensure product ranges meet European and International Standards
- Overseeing the ISO policy and procedures
- Assisting marketing, sales, procurement and Quality Assurance on a project basis
- Control and maintenance of the internal REACH database
- Monitoring Acceptable Quality Limit (AQL) levels on outgoing shipments from the Far East
- Creating and maintaining technical files
- Test and compliance experience gained in laboratory, manufacturer or retailer environments
- Confidence in dealing with serious issues in a professional manner, responding on behalf of the company, supplying correspondence and producing evidence of compliance
- Methodical and organised approach
