We are offering an opportunity for a Mid-Level Water/Wastewater Project Manager in Birmingham, Alabama. The role involves leading the design and delivery of water and wastewater facilities ranging from $1M to over $100M in construction value.
Responsibilities- Manage and support the planning and design of water and wastewater facilities, addressing challenges such as emerging contaminants and nutrient removal.
- Oversee diverse projects in water treatment, wastewater treatment, conveyance, and modeling.
- Serve as a primary client interface, leading workshops, facilitating discussions, and maintaining strong relationships to ensure expectations are met and exceeded.
- Drive project coordination across disciplines and uphold quality standards throughout all design phases.
- Mentor engineers and designers, fostering technical growth and collaborative team culture.
- Contribute to technical strategies and design planning for project pursuits, leveraging client insights to shape innovative solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Biosystems Engineering, or related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- 7+ years of experience in detailed design and project management of water/wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, and conveyance systems.
- Proven ability to coordinate across multiple engineering disciplines and manage project delivery.
- Strong communication skills, self‑motivation, and ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
- Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
- Experience in construction and startup of water/wastewater treatment facilities.
- Design experience with advanced wastewater processes.
- Familiarity with emerging technologies and sustainability practices in water infrastructure.
The base salary range for this position is $92,100.00 to $. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Eligible employees may also enroll in a deferred compensation plan or the Executive Deferral Plan.
