ResponsibilitiesThe Environmental Engineer will interact with regulatory agencies, demonstrate compliance with permits, rules, and regulations, and uphold corporate environmental standards. Key duties include:
- Lead environmental compliance at multiple facilities.
- Manage ISO 14001 implementation and maintenance.
- Oversee environmental project management and training.
- Maintain emergency contingency plans.
- Coordinate community outreach programs.
The role reports to the EHS Supervisor and collaborates with the NTP EHS Team and the Nucor Product and Raw Material Environmental group across many tubular facilities. Candidates must be self‑motivated, navigate simultaneous projects, and promote a positive environmental and safety culture.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications- Four‑year degree from an accredited university in engineering, preferably environmental, chemical, civil, or a similar environmental program.
- Two (2+) years of experience in environmental compliance, air pollution control, waste management, and/or wastewater treatment operations.
- Demonstrable knowledge of environmental regulations (air, water, EPCRA, DOT, and hazardous waste).
- Ability to travel occasionally for audits, training, and group meetings.
- Experience with implementation and maintenance of ISO 14001 or equivalent EMS.
