Senior Hydrogeologist

Overview

We are seeking a Senior Hydrogeologist to help us shape the future. In this role, you will have the opportunity to perform and lead environmental analyses in support of nuclear environmental licensing projects nationwide.

• Develop, calibrate, and analyze groundwater flow models using MODFLOW to assess and predict hydrogeologic conditions.
• Develop and conduct field investigations to characterize hydrogeologic systems and evaluate groundwater flow conditions. Collect and evaluate site‑specific groundwater data to characterize flow patterns, assess potential impacts, and identify possible receptors. Perform and interpret aquifer tests to measure hydraulic properties.
• Evaluate the potential impacts of development or land‑use changes on groundwater resources. Develop remediation plans for contaminated groundwater sites and monitor the effectiveness of remediation activities over time.
• Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations related to groundwater management, water quality protection and environmental permitting. Help prepare permit applications and environmental impact assessments as required.
• Prepare comprehensive technical reports and presentations summarizing findings from hydrogeological studies and investigations. Communicate complex scientific concepts to clients and regulatory agencies in a clear and understandable manner.
• Manage hydrogeological projects from start to completion, including budgeting, scheduling and coordination of fieldwork and laboratory testing activities.
• Other areas of focus include NEPA compliance, geographic information system (GIS), natural resources assessments & permitting, geoscience & remediation services, radiological services and regulatory compliance.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Hydrogeology or Geology.
• Minimum six (6) years of hydrogeology experience.
• Proficiency in hydrogeologic principles, including characterization, assessment and monitoring.
• Experience with field instrumentation and techniques for groundwater sampling and monitoring.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting processes related to groundwater.
• Excellent writing, communication, strategic thinking and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel 10%–20% of the time; duration of travel may vary from a few days to a week.

USD $82,000.00 - USD $ per year.
