Zing Recruiting, in partnership with a prominent manufacturing client in the Birmingham, AL area, is seeking a Quality Engineer to join their team! Quality Engineer Job Summary:
Salary: $76,000-$80,800+ annually (DOE - Depending on Experience)
The Quality Engineer will be responsible for supporting and improving quality systems and processes within a manufacturing environment. This role focuses on driving continuous improvement, ensuring product compliance, and resolving quality issues through structured problem-solving methods.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control systems and procedures
- Analyze production and quality data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
- Investigate product defects, non-conformances, and customer complaints
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across production and engineering teams
- Conduct internal audits and support external/customer audits
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and quality documentation
- Ensure compliance with company standards, customer requirements, and ISO/regulatory guidelines
- Support APQP activities including PPAP, FMEA, and Control Plans
- Train production personnel on quality standards and procedures as needed
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field preferred
- 1+ years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment required
- Strong knowledge of quality systems, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement tools
- Experience with ISO standards and quality audits preferred
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality-related systems/software
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
- Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
- APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, SPC, and Control Plans
- Automotive or high-volume manufacturing experience is a plus
- ASQ certification preferred but not required
