Mechanical Engineer; Associate​/Entry Level

We are representing a highly regarded industrial manufacturing organization seeking an Associate/Entry Level Mechanical Engineer at their flagship operation in the Greater Birmingham, AL area. This role will support capital projects, process improvement initiatives, and industrial engineering efforts with a strong emphasis on product quality, process reliability, and defect prevention across the site. This is a permanent, direct-hire opportunity.

• Develop, evaluate, and continuously improve manufacturing processes with a focus on quality, consistency, and repeatability in continuous‑process environments.
• Analyze and optimize labor utilization, workflow, and plant layout to enhance efficiency while maintaining high quality standards.
• Apply engineering analysis tools (e.g., Ansys FEA or similar) to validate designs, identify potential failure modes, and improve product robustness.
• Lead and support troubleshooting and root cause analysis activities, implementing corrective and preventive actions to reduce defects and improve process capability.
• Utilize statistical methods (e.g., SPC, process capability analysis) to monitor process performance, control variation, and predict future manufacturing requirements.
• Create, review, and maintain mechanical design drawings and bills of materials, ensuring accuracy, standardization, and alignment with quality and production requirements for both customer orders and R&D projects.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on waste reduction, process stability, and long‑term quality outcomes.

• B.S. in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering required.
