We're looking for a Test Engineer I to join the Protection & Control (P&C) Field Services – Substation Integration & Automation (SIA) team. This is an excellent opportunity for recent engineering graduates or professionals with up to 5 years of experience who are interested in substation automation, SCADA systems, and power system testing.
Responsibilities- Commission, test, and troubleshoot substation integration and SCADA equipment
- Safely plan and execute field projects on schedule
- Support Protection & Control field services and automation initiatives
- Work primarily onsite and in the field
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (accredited)
- 0–5 years of related engineering experience
- Experience or training with:
- Substation SCADA commissioning and testing
- Microprocessor (IED) technology
- Serial & Ethernet network communications
- Power system calculations and measurements
- Substation relay protection & control equipment
- Industrial control systems (PLCs, generation or plant controls)
- Basic AC/DC electrical systems
- Knowledge of substation safety practices
- SCADA system operation and control schemes
- Communication protocols and networking
- 3-phase power calculations
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Experience using multimeters, hand tools, and productivity software
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
